Robert H. 'Robbie' Dein

Realtor-Broker | Owner
ABR | CRS | RSPS | RB-18398

Biography

I am honored by the trust & confidence my clients place in me. Our ranking among Maui’s top producing agents in 2021 humbles me.

An innate desire to satisfy, educate, advocate and negotiate for my clients’ characterizes my standard of real estate practice. I am my client’s ‘Trusted Maui Advisor,’ and to that end, I have sought out the highest level of education and tools to create success for my clients and their entrusted referrals. I was licensed in 1996, sat for my Broker’s exam in 2003, earned the National Association of Realtors’ highest level of residential sales designations, CRS- Certified Residential Specialist, ABR-Accredited Buyers Representative, and RSPS-Resort, Second Home Property Specialist, in my early years of practice.

Hawaii Business Magazine has distinguished Robbie as one of the Top 100 Hawaii Realtors 17 years in a row.

Personal History & Family

Growing up in Miami Beach, Florida, in the early 50s and 60s, I imprinted early on the importance of nature and the ease of being that living in a tropical environment supported. Perhaps it was the open hallways in the Mediterranean architectural style of South Beach Elementary School.

I was dwelling in a climate where fresh air flows inside and out, where the weight of layers of clothing did not bind me. When time permitted, I had a plethora of outdoor activities to choose from, and a 99% chance of having excellent weather to engage in them, left me with a deep feeling of satisfaction about my early years.

Somehow, as I was plunging my head in the Tropicana orange juice cooler at our local supermarket to get a sense of what it must be like to live in a winter climate, I decided to attend Purdue University in Indiana. I graduated with a B.A. in Political Science, with an invitation into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society, and somehow became a potter in my spare extracurricular time.

Upon graduation, I settled in a modest-size college town, Ithaca, New York, where Cornell University and Ithaca College are located. I hung out a shingle and started a pottery shop called People’s Pottery. I sold what I made with my own hands for the first three years and then began buying and offering the works of hundreds of professional craftspeople from all over the United States. Between 1972 and 1996, that little shop, in which I had lived in the back, and had housed a pottery studio and sales gallery, became the seed for what became known as one of America’s finest ‘Handmade in America’ 51 store retail specialty companies.

During those 24 years of growing my American Crafts company, I diversified financially and purchased numerous personal residences, second homes, and commercial buildings to house my retail enterprises. I also built multiple spec homes incorporating my aesthetic and business sensibility. Real estate offered me that perfect blend of financial planning, wealth building, and an aesthetic opportunity to be creative.

I sold the company in 1996 and moved my wife, Nancy, and two sons, Quincy and Forrest, to Maui. We had visited for two weeks on our first visit, four weeks the following year, 6 weeks the next, ten weeks the following year, and finally sixteen weeks in the final year before we admitted that “We desired to live in Maui as much as anyone else.”

Maui is the right place for me on this planet. I feel blessed that I chose to relocate to a place where I truly feel energized. Whether I am driving to a cultural event, showing my clients an oceanfront condominium, or simply going to the grocery store, I never fail to find myself seeing something that I experience as beautiful.

It is that ‘feeling’ that energizes and enriches my daily life and that I love to share with my clients. It takes courage to leave the mainland, leave family and friends of many years, and re-locate 2500 miles out in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean. Perhaps that is why Hawaii has only just over a million inhabitants statewide. Still, I can say from experience that this environment of mountains, oceans, and the nature that abounds is truly paradise, and I love facilitating and working on my clients’ behalf to make it a part of their daily reality too.

I sense a deep feeling of satisfaction and grace among Hawaii’s inhabitants. We each have the power to create the life we want to live, where we want to live it, and we can contribute our skills sets and energy to those around us, and we will be rewarded. I invite you to choose me as your Pro-Active Trusted Maui Advisor, Your Realtor, and I will educate, advocate, and negotiate on your behalf and find the ‘right place’ on Maui for You!

Jaimie Brown is by far THE BEST realtor that I have ever worked with, having bought & sold many properties, mostly in Hawaii, for the past 33 years. My first real-estate purchase was in 1979; my last sale was final last month. Between those two transactions were at least 10 others. Jaimie is the most honest, hard-working, thorough, detail-oriented, personable, cheerful, knowledgeable, & responsive realtor that I have ever met. She is amazing. If she has any flaws, I never saw any. I recommend her very highly, & would hire her “in a heartbeat” next time. You are very lucky if you have her to represent you!

I would like to thank Jaimie Brown for the wonderful job she did in selling my condo at Puuone Towers, Unit 507 … as I was not living on Maui at the time it made it a little more stressful for me and Jaimie made everything easy and enjoyable … from start to finish she handled everything in a professional, but extremely pleasant manner … and the outcome of the sale far exceeded my expectations! I would highly recommend her services to anyone thinking of selling their property. Mahalo Jaimie for a job well done!

She was patient and did not use high pressure sales tactics. She was very experienced and helped me along each step of the buying process. She was on top of all the deadlines and notified me when each one became due. I highly recommend Jaimie to anyone who is in the market for a condo or house on Maui.
— Chuck Tsang

Jaimie was a great agent I would strongly recommend her to anyone who was looking to buy or sell real estate. As a new home buyer she helped me look for everything I was looking for. Something in my price range first and the most important and everything else just fell into place. I would like to take this time to say Thank You.

I cannot recommend too highly (high enough, I should say), Jaimie Brown: I would score her as 11 on a 10-scale. In other words as 110%.

Jeannie Kong-Evarts

Realtor (S) | RS-68054
Realtor Association Maui, Director-at-Large

Biography

Truly understanding what it means to be a client in a real estate endeavor is the foundation of my business. As a trusted Maui real estate advisor, I have a deep respect for what a buyer and seller go thru in a real estate transaction. It is one of the most important personal and financial decisions one may make in their life. It also can be an emotional process. So not only understanding that on an intellectual level but also on a deeper more personal level motivates me to strive for excellence every step of the way for all my clients….

When an asset has so many emotional ties to one’s personal and financial life, it is sometimes easy to forget the bigger picture and lose objectivity. When it involves your personal lifestyle, it can be easy to get sidetracked. That’s where my professionalism and objective understanding can be crucial for your success. There are many variables in a real estate transaction, not to mention, many legal responsibilities. So, my many years of experience backed by a top-notch brokers’ team has proven to be of the utmost importance. WHO YOU WORK WITH MATTERS.

Understanding the market with all its nuances is my full-time professional focus. It is by no means a part-time gig. You have to be in the field every day to continue to learn and INTERPRET the overall market.

I have spent now over 16 years helping buyers and sellers navigate successfully through this ever-changing market. From the 2005-2006 euphoria, to 2008 housing crisis, to short sales and foreclosures, to market rebound, pandemic- to euphoria again; there is not much I haven’t seen. I have successfully sold condo vacation rentals, luxury vacation homes, houses to first-time home buyers, oceanfront luxury homes, farmland, multi-family units, commercial property and vacant land.  As you can see my background is varied and therefore can be valuable to you.

My track record of production is a culmination of dedication to the field of real estate, driving to be better every day, and in the process, discovering what it really means to be of service.

Personally speaking, I had no idea how much I would enjoy all the people I have met throughout my career. How can one experience that and not feel incredibly honored to be a part of their lives…I come back to these words. I am grateful and humbled by the relationships and the success that included overcoming challenges as well. Sometimes those challenges actually are opportunities to show up as your best self, think outside the box and walk your talk!

I dedicated my career to not only being productive but also to the pursuit of learning more each day. I started my career under a top producing Broker with very high standards, then worked with the first affiliation on Maui with Christies Great Estates team in NYC, and now for the past 10 years with my brokers Robert Dein and Ken Hayo.  They are top in the field when it comes to everything real estate!  Surrounding and learning from the best is important.   A term I learned called “Kaizen”, is my underlying motto. In short, it means “to continuously improve”. This has led me to have consistent top 5-star client reviews and also to receive the highest honor given by Realtors Association of Maui, which was REALTOR® Salesperson of the Year in 2018. This is a peer voted award. One can only be awarded once in their career.

On my time away from my work, I love to swim, jog, hike, read, play pickleball, have dinner parties (attend them too!), constantly redesign my abode, and go to fabulous restaurants (I am a bit of a foodie). I am inspired by people who love what they do!  I am a mother of 4 and I feel incredibly grateful and in awe of the human beings that they are. It has helped me to have the fortitude, flexibility and to constantly grow in love.  I also have an incredible partner whose sincere kindness is so reassuring. His optimism and view on life gives breath to our continuously evolving relationship. Also, our mutual love of Pickleball and the NBA is a bonus! Like with many things, it is not always easy, but if you are truly committed then you can get to the other side of “not easy”.  Like they said the “extra mile is never crowded”.

My clients have come from so many varied backgrounds, from technology, financial, medical, entrepreneurs, and retirees. Fortune 500 companies to dedicated teachers. Artists to accountants. From the far east, Europe, S. America, to our local community. Maui’s beauty and lure has attracted a wide spectrum of people, which I feel humbled to know and honored to serve.

So, what’s the next step? Call me and we can start a conversation. No pressure, no obligation. 808-276-1832

Or, if you would like a consultation, then It would be my pleasure to have a confidential and no obligation meeting with you either in person, by phone or teleconference call and discuss your Maui real estate goals.

I look forward to serving you as your Trusted and Pro-active Maui Real Estate advisor.

For Buyers

If you are a buyer, then you want someone to truly listen to what you are looking for and to understand the lifestyle you so desire. That means sometimes being shown properties to consider which you may not have considered previously. Why do I say that? Because after years of experience, sometimes what people are looking for on an island may not be what they actually want. Maui is incredibly unique and diverse. Understanding how one lives in different parts of Maui is so important. For instance, a property secluded in some parts of Maui where the jungle is romantic & beautiful can be the perfect backdrop for many people, but is it yours if you desire community? That is just one of many questions to consider. If you are a buyer, you want an agent who is patient and willing to sit down and take the time to recalculate your needs, if required. My many years of experience have taught me much in understanding the needs and wants of buyers. Having an assertive and proactive agent on your side for your negotiations is a prerequisite for your success.

For Sellers

If you are a seller, then you want someone to first understand your needs, time- line and goals.  To do this you need a professional to guide you with integrity, who will communicate with you honestly and openly. You want your property to be marketed productively and beautifully, no matter the price range. My background in design with an “eye” for aesthetics has proven advantages. It means your property will be shown with effective marketing and communication skills, utilizing some of the latest technology. You also want your property to receive CUSTOMIZED attention. Every property is unique and your agent must take the time to incorporate your individual selling proposition in order to maximize your investment. Then finally, you should have an agent who knows how to negotiate and guide you with transparency while having your goals in mind.

Designations and Community Involvement

In addition to Realtor Association of Maui “Realtor Salesperson of the Year” I have received the following significant designations and credentials:

  • · CRS credentials (Council of Residential Specialist) is the highest credential awarded to residential sales agents, managers and brokers. “A CRS REALTOR® is a Certified Residential Specialist – one of the top 3 percent of real estate agents in the U.S. CRS agents have more experience and training than the average REALTOR® and they are part of a community of REALTORS® dedicated to improving the real estate industry for homebuyers and sellers everywhere.”
  • · RENE: Real Estate Negotiation Expert
  • · SRS: Sellers Representative Specialist

  • · ePRO: NAR’s e-PRO® certification program helps REALTORS® master the advanced digital marketing techniques of today.

· Chair of Realtor Assoc. of Maui Member Services

· Past Director-at-Large of Realtor Assoc. of Maui

Personal History & Family

Growing up in Miami Beach, Florida in the early 50’s and 60’s I imprinted early on the importance of nature and the ease of being that living in a tropical environment supported. Perhaps it was the open hallways in the  Mediterranean architectural style of South Beach Elementary School.

Dwelling in a climate where fresh air flows inside and out, where I was not bound by the weight of layers of clothing, closed toed shoes and where, when time permitted, I had a plethora of outdoor activities to choose from and a ninety nine percent chance of having excellent weather to engage in them, left me with a deep feeling of satisfaction about my early years.

Somehow, as I was plunging my head in the Tropicana orange juice cooler at our local supermarket, Foodfair, to get a sense of what it must be like to live in a winter climate, I decided to attend Purdue University, in Indiana. I graduated with a B.A. in Political Science, with an invitation into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society and somehow became a potter in my spare extra curricular time. Upon graduation, I settled in a modest-size college town , Ithaca, New York, where Cornell University and Ithaca College are located , hung out a shingle, and started a pottery shop called People’s Pottery. I sold only what I made with my own hands for the first three years and then began buying and offering the works of hundreds of professional crafts people from all over the United States. Between 1972 and 1996 that little shop, in which I had lived in the back, and had housed a pottery studio and sales gallery, became the seed for what became known as one of America’s finest ‘Handmade in America’ 51 store retail specialty companies. I sold the company in 1996 and moved my wife, Nancy, and two sons, Quincy and Forrest, to Maui which we had visited for two weeks on our first visit, four weeks the following year, 6 weeks the next, ten weeks the next year and finally sixteen weeks in the final year before we admitted that “We deserved to live in Maui as much as anyone else.”

During those 24 years of growing my American Crafts company, I diversified financially and purchased numerous personal residences, second homes, and, also, commercial buildings to house my retail enterprises. I also built numerous spec

homes incorporating my aesthetic and business sensibility. Real estate offered me that perfect blend of financial planning and wealth building, and an aesthetic opportunity to be creative. Maui is the right place for me on this planet. I feel blessed that I made the choice to re-locate to a place I truly feel energized by. Whether I am driving to a cultural event, showing my clients an oceanfront condominium, or simply going to the grocery store, I never fail to find myself “seeing something that I experience as beautiful.”

It is that ‘feeling’ that energizes and enriches my daily life and that I love to share with my clients. It takes courage to leave the mainland, leave family and friends of many years, and re-locate 2500 miles out in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean. Perhaps that is why Hawaii has only just over a million inhabitants statewide, but I can say from experience that this environment of mountains, oceans, and the nature that abounds is truly ‘paradise’, and I love facilitating and working on my clients’ behalf to make it a part of their daily reality too. There is a deep feeling of satisfaction and grace that I sense among Hawaii’s inhabitants. We each have the power to create the life we want to live, where we want to live it, and we can contribute our skills sets and energy to those around us and we will be rewarded. I invite you to choose me as your Pro-Active Trusted Maui Advisor, Your Realtor, and I will educate, advocate, and negotiate on your behalf and find the ‘right place’ on Maui for You!

  • · GREEN: NAR’s Green Designation is designed for agents looking to learn about issues of energy efficiency and sustainability in real estate.
  • · ePRO: NAR’s e-PRO® certification program helps REALTORS® master the advanced digital marketing techniques of today.

· Committee Member of Wishing Well Foundation

· Chair of Realtor Assoc. of Maui Member Services

· Past Director-at-Large of Realtor Assoc. of Maui

— John Wright, M.D.

— Lynn

Jaimie was very knowledgeable of the real estate market. She knew exactly what we were looking for and helped us find our dream home on the second day of viewings.

— Colby

I cannot recommend too highly (high enough, I should say), Jaimie Brown: I would score her as 11 on a 10-scale. In other words as 110%.
— J.P.F.

Jaimie has been awesome in every step that we went through. She has made this buying experience for us very easy and enjoyable. Her knowledge of the real estate market and professionalism gave me and my wife peace of mind. We closed two weeks early and love our new home.
